Crime scene investigation unit!

Reflection over:-

Crime scene investigation unit!

À We started the whole process of becoming a criminal or an investigator by watching crime scene investigation or any other crime drama. I watched numbers on BBC because I had interest in it and enjoyed the way they solved mysteries through numbers and using mathematics. We had to watch at least 4 dramas that could help us creating a crime or solving a crime. Every time we watched a new drama we focused on different thing for example the first time we watched a drama we had to focus strongly on the people and their alibis or motivation in the state of crime. The next time we watched we focused questions they asked. And as we watched 3 and 4 episode we had to focus on forensics, problem solving and how to link things with people. The basic reason for us to watch these four episodes was to understand to how to make a sharp crime and how the solve a sharp crime. The other thing about this TV watching learning process was fun. The homework we use to do wasn’t a headache rather I would say that this kind of homework attracted us like a magnet towards us it was fun based learning through which children learn more than they normally do.

.

À The next thing that I found the most interesting and enjoyable was reading short stories on crime. It was the reading I have ever done in my life and mean it when I’m saying it. The first story was the best story ‘lamb to slaughter’. It was about a wife that kills her husband with a beef leg and vanishes I bay feeding it to the investigators. The other crime story was ‘classical revenge’ , it was nice story but it was bit disgusting like how the women use to make the string of the guitar by using their intestines and then stuff them up with cloth. The reasons behind doing this all was to learn how to add a twist to a tale and to think sharply from the point of view of the criminal.

À After reading the short stories and thinking like a criminal, it was turn to think like a investigator. To help us to do that we played games on internet. It sounds weird online games and study but it is true we used online free games to help us study. We went to riddlenow.com that was told by Adam. It was really fun I just went up to the level5 out of 11 levels. I didn’t complete it because it got harder as we went to a higher level. We had to look ever sharply at everything because everything is a clue. The whole point was to think like a investigator.

À After doing that all we now had to learn that how investigators worked out who it was by looking at its hair strands, clothing thread and finger prints in short how did they work out who it was by using forensics. It was really exciting because it was the first time I was about to look at my hair strand. We made slides and add a hair strand to one slide & thread to another .It was fun to see that how my hair looked like from near. It was straight, smooth and had small circles like particles on the top. The clothing strand was fun as well because a thread that looks very smooth it is actually distorted. After doing that we looked at our finger prints. It was fun to see our finger print from a closer view. It had many curves and looked waves. In the end we found out who were the criminal of the pin tack mysteries, the hair and the finger prints came from Jake and the thread came from Maga’s shirt. In this process we just not learned forensics but we also scientific skills.

À It was no turn to make crime teams and starting to make our own crime. We made the teams by picking a piece of paper and putting them in one group, Miss Rajas did that. Each team had three people in it only one team had two people in it that was Brendon and Phillip. I had Marco and Kiran in my team. It was fun because Kiran had some really good ideas by watching one of the Indian shows and Marco had some really good ideas by watching the Korean cartoons.

À We based our crime story on a murder of a famous fashion designer in France. Our group worked really well with all the ideas, we made our crime scene and it was really good. In this process we had to make a label of our crime team and we had to make our visuals of where the crime scene took place. We used sketch up to make our crime scene and I must say that we did a tremendous job, all of our pictures had a clue in them. The label was really good as well but it was mostly dome by Marco but we gave the ideas.

À Our next stop was playing Cluedo. In playing Cluedo we learn the process elimination. In the game w had to eliminate a weapon, a suspect and a location as of where, who and what killed the victim. We also learned how to link object with people. We two sessions of it. We were suppose to play this before we made our crime story but because we got the Arabic version of it due to which it was kept on pending.

À Solution was the part were had to make up who, when, how, what and where did the murder took the place. It was also a part were we had the chance improving it. While me, Marco and Kiran were discussing it when came to find out that we had made several mistakes. In order to have any one as a suspect we had to change the story it was really big pain but we had to do it. We all discussed and wrote the solution in class but somehow the whole thing came on me. We had three killers in our crime the manger, the husband and the friend. They killed her because they wanted money some of them had take revenge.

À On a Tuesday evening we had a bit of a surprise a waiting for us actually it wasn’t really a surprise because more than half of the class knew who it was. After flying back to our class we had mystery. The murder of red pen. We went through process of elimination by getting to know their alibis. In the end we had Jake and Cedric. We all knew Jake did and he had to pay for it.

À It was our turn to find the solution to some body’s crime. I got Abhinav, Cedric and Jacques crime. We had to figure out who and why hi or she did. We had to look at every aspect of death not just murder but also at suicide, accident, disease and natural. We also had use eliminating process in order to find who did it. Their crime was designed to ask question in order find the answer. I wrote a series of questions and asked them that leaded me to the answer. I found whop and how he died actually I was the only one who figured it till now or Nayeon.

I must say that the thing we did recently was a great idea and I would like to thank Miss Rajas for giving us such a fun filled activity that no other English teacher has ever given us.

THE END!
